Massengale

Massengale's presentation of his work last night was intense. If you want to share something here, it would be nice. Believe it or not, sometimes they read this blog.

Massengale, and his wife Mirna, are in a group show called "The Wild Wild Wynwood" currated by two of Massengale's students, Brian Geffen, and David Marsh. Massengale J has a new painting that involves a commingling of his aesthetic concerns titled: "esta endiabla" and Mirna has produced a DVD about a frantic road-trip which will be projected above a musical performance.

His work is amazing. I would love to see one of his exhibit in the near future. The only thing is I'm horrible at finding streets and dislike driving in Miami in general (especially downtown ><). But I will be checking Pixtures often for updates. I also put up a link his his Blogger on my website if that is ok. It's not done but it's some what presentable at the moment methinks. bluedemise.com
Thank you for the wonderful presentation!

I appreciated the use of anatomical studies in order to give the subject a a different depth. Form equals function, and by understanding the function of the subject, it becomes easier to recreate the form believably.

I also really liked the highly saturated colors. Yellow stood out particularly to me in a lot of the works.

Thanks, I like the warming and acidic effects of yellow - do you understand some of the colors and their meaning in "Alchemy" Kristal ?
